Three Bridges 1st 3 – 1 Tooting & Mitcham United

On Tuesday night (8th December) a Bridges team showing a mixture of Youth and experience beat Tooting And Mitcham United 3-1 in a friendly organised while League fixtures are not an option.

Bridges played well with experienced players like Lee Hall, a former Tooting player, and Brannon O’Neill bossing the midfield and creating plenty of chances. After just seven minutes a great through ball from Hall gave CURTIS GAYLER the opening to chip the visiting keeper for an excellent goal, and it was then the turn of O’Neill to show his talent before the ball came to MASON DOUGHTY for a nicely taken second goal.

A number of second half substitutions by both sides evened the game up a bit, although Steve Smith and Dean Lovegrove looked imperious in the home defence and Kieron Thorp looked safe all night in goal.

Late in the game youngsters Finn and Donn Street combined to set up BILLY IRVINE for a tap in but with three minutes remaining Tooting grabbed a consolation much to the anger of Thorp and his defence.
