Grand Opening
From everyone at Three Bridges Football Club, a massive thank you to everyone who attended our official grand opening on Saturday (22 March).
The early afternoon saw over 100 of our youth players enjoying training sessions on the pitch, with a ‘one club’ photo, including the First Team, Women’s Team, youth section, committee, management, staff and sponsors being taken by Dave Burt Photography.
Official speeches took place around an hour before the 3pm kick-off. Deputy Mayor of Crawley Jill Hart spoke at her joy of seeing the 3G pitch facility now open after years of hard work to get to this stage. Chairman Paul Faili went on to thank the countless volunteers from the football club who had supported the project, as well The Football Foundation, Sussex County Football Association and Crawley Borough Council.
The opening ribbon was cut by Club President Alan Bell, who has been a key part of the football club for many years, first as a player, then as Chairman, and now as Club President.
On the pitch, the day coincided with Non-League Day 2025, and saw us comprehensively beat Beckenham Town 6-2 thanks to goals from Kevin Rivera (2), Noel Leighton (2), Noel Fisher and a Ben Holden penalty.
250+ were in attendance for the 3pm kick-off, but we are sure many more enjoyed the day during different parts and we thank everyone for attending.
This pitch will not just change the future landscape of Three Bridges Football Club, but will also be a major asset for the community of Crawley, as we look to partner with many local organizations, charities, schools and colleges moving forward.
