Three Bridges 1st vs Ramsgate | 0-2

Table-toppers Ramsgate visited Jubilee on a wet and windy Tuesday evening and came away with all three points, but it was a match where Bridges more than matched their opponents and probably deserved a lot more from the game.

Bridges started much the brighter, with Ibby Jalloh and debutant Nabeel Ghannam combining well on occasions to get past the Ramsgate defence. The first real chance of the game fell to Noel Leighton after being played in by Kevin Rivera, but he couldn’t apply the finish when through on goal. Both Rivera and Jalloh then had good chances themselves but couldn’t get past Ramsgate ‘keeper Hadler.

The away side had created very little for 35 minutes, but suddenly came to life in the last 10 minutes of the first-half. First, Billy Irving did really well to get back and clear a goal bound shot off the line, but then the away side made the most of the blowing wind and two corner-kick routines to score two goals in quick succession. JOE TAYLOR headed in the first from a yard out in the 40th minute, before CRAIG STONE added a second with a back-post finish in the 44th minute.

Two killer blows just before half-time in a game where Bridges had been much the better side.
Most of the positive play in the second-half came from Bridges too, with Nabeel Ghannam fizzing two shots just wide during the second-half and Ibby Jalloh seeing a low shot saved by Hadler, but unfortunately we couldn’t find a way through. Ramsgate held on to come away 2-0 winners and keep a clean sheet too.
