Away Win At Last

An away win at last for Bridges, although bottom placed Corinthian played better than their lowly position suggests, and in fact wasted a number of chances in a first half they dominated at times.

The always dependable Kieron Pamment forced Dan Colmer to an early save but no one followed up to get to the loose ball. But then Brandon Davey fired over and was then denied by Leo Anderson as Corinthian broke swiftly.

Michael Wilson and Kevin Rivera came close, but Sam Fitzgerald failed to capitalise on a free header, Oscar Housego shot wide and then Anderson made another good block to deny lively 17 year old Oliver Box.

Finally, after 36 minutes came a goal as Pamment’s pass inside to Rivera was moved on to CAMRON LAWSON, who looked to have moved too wide at first but then chipped the ball into the far corner despite the efforts to clear by keeper and defenders alike.

Corinthian seemed to run out of both puff and ideas after the break but now it was the turn of Bridges to waste a few decent opportunities. But after 89 minutes Rivera recovered well after losing the ball and slid it through to Bryan Villavicencio, who in turn laid it off for PAMMENT to finish clinically and then celebrate Bridges’ first away win of the season.
