EG 1-1 Three Bridges

Bridges decided to play well for the first 20 minutes and last 20 minutes off this West Sussex derby as the points were eventually shared after a late Kieron Pamment goal.

The away side started well, keeping possession well, playing nicely through the thirds and creating openings from the right wing, but the half chances were wasted.

And inevitably, after bossing the opening stages, Bridges ended up giving East Grinstead the chance to take the lead on the 22nd minute. Ferreria lost the ball on the edge of the box to Charlie Greenwood and TAHJAE ANDERSON was played through to slot past Mitch Bromage to make it 1-0.

That changed the direction of the game and the home side had numerous chances before the break, with Straker, Greenwood and Daniel all seeing shots go wide or saved by Mitch Bromage as his goal came under siege.

The second-half started in slow fashion, with East Grinstead looking to waste time and Bridges not managing to get any kind of flow going. With 20 minutes to go however, Jamie Crellin changed shape to a 3-5-2 and this saw a huge improvement in performance with chances aplenty being created.

In the space of 5 minutes Brannon O’Neill saw one shot go wide and then another cleared off the line, before Curtis Gayler then rattled a low shot against the far post and saw a long range fizzer go just over the bar.

It was the introduction of Cam Lawson on the 84th minute that created Bridges breakthrough back into the game. Lawson crossed well from the left-hand side, O’Neill and Leighton saw two initial shots blocked on the line, but KIERON PAMMENT picked up on the loose ball and cannoned an effort into the net and we were all square!

Bridges pushed valiantly for the winner, with Lawson and Leighton seeing chances saved by Pierson in the EG goal in the dying minutes. In the end, the game finished with both teams taking a point a piece.

Bridges now have two home games in a row; Chichester on Saturday 18th and Sevenoaks on Tuesday 21st.
